I first began my yogic path in my mid-twenties, after years of suffering from an old shoulder injury. In my first class someone said, “Welcome to the Journey,” and although I had no idea what they were talking about, I felt something deep inside tugging at my heartstrings. As my practice began to evolve I found a completely different approach to life and awareness of the world around me. I have been a professional artist since 1994. When I paint, I pick up the brush and I have no plan. My hands move from the will of my higher self and technique. It is a daily experiment of being in the present moment, wild and inspired. Yoga gives me a similar type of expression, allowing me to know myself on a much deeper level. Being a creative type, I am drawn to explore. I have traveled and lived in many places. I have stood on my head in the strangest of places for a different perspective. Teaching adults, as well as children, gives me the energy source I need to return to my own creative thinking. Yoga brings joy, improves esteem and promotes creative thinking while focusing and grounding energies simultaneously. I am dedicated to teaching the importance of self-expression, freedom, environmental respect and gratitude through yoga and art. I believe the art of meditation is listening with your total being. |
